"De-value the values"

Films: American Gothic (1988)

Alias: Pa, Ma, Fanny, Woody, Teddy

Type: Natural

Location: Haunted home/Forest

Height/Weight: That of average humans.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: A nice alternative it would be if we could just relocate these frankly unhinged lunatics in film to distant islands where they'd have no hope of hurting anyone. But even then, people have a way of ending up in the worst possible places for the old times to remain...

History: This family, related or not, spent who-knows how many years alone, on an island with only each other and their deteriorating sanity. The patriarch of the bunch, Pa, made it his mission to teach the others true, holy values, but we all know he just wanted to be on top. Then a few would-be vacationers accidentally found themselves there.

Notable Kills: After one man is left for dead, Ma shows up to finish the job with sowing needles, liking it to one of the family not completing a chore.

Final Fate: One of the would-be victims, driven to madness, kills all of the family members one by one with bludgeoning (Fanny), sword-stabbing (Woody), needle-impaling (Ma), and sickle-slashing (Teddy). Pa angrily renounces God before being shot in the back with a shotgun.

Powers/Abilities: None

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-As with any crazy family, it's always a chore to be pursued by more than one psycho. Ma and Pa's youth in particular are quite unnerving, especially Fanny, who's been tending to a mummified baby for some time, and behaves like a 12-year old.

Trivia: -This film was also known as "Hide and Shriek", and "Dark Paradise".

-Pa was played by Rod Steiger, who had a long history of intense method acting, and taking on his roles with maximum charisma.

And you thought Leatherface was the only one who stuck by that motto.

Great job, killers. You just created a warning to all others who would look upon this island.

Paradies? Surely, you jest.

Mad people like them love that sort of game. Haven't you guessed by now?

I don't know whats worse. The insanity or the awful dresses.
